Big Fish Games Affiliate Program Update

mbfgads_125x125

On January 1st, I had 260 members in my downline. On my last update, that number had inched up to 945. Now here we are on April the 10th, and we're knocking on the door of 2000! The amazing thing is, I've built this with a very minimal advertising budget. For example, I've been a member of Traffic Swarm for several years and have saved up some traffic credits that have been very helpful. The rest has been done using blog marketing, forums, and a few opt-in e-mails from a list I've built up over the past couple of years.

Big Fish Games (BFG) launched its affiliate program back in October of 2006. Over 125,000 members joined in the first 45 days! This resulted in more than 80,000 new retail customers for Big Fish. Here's part of a recent press release:

“My Big Fish Games has proven to be lucrative for both our customers and our company,” said Paul Thelen, founder and CEO of Big Fish Games. “More than half of the 80,000 new casual game customers generated by this program visited our site for the first time within the last 15 days, showing the impressive rate of acceleration created by the network effect of friends inviting friends. This model is very powerful; it is changing the value chain of the casual games industry. We enable our customers to share their enthusiasm for casual games and share in the financial upside of this explosively growing industry. Ultimately we are creating a new customer acquisition engine, our customers themselves.”

Here are a few interesting industry and company facts:
  • The 'casual gamer' is one of the fastest-growing segments of Internet users, with more than 60% of them being female.
  • 85% are over the age of 30.
  • 300 Million casual gamers are online today.
  • That number is expected to grow to over 1 BILLION in the next 3 to 4 years.
  • Big Fish Games has distributed over 100 million games since its inception.
  • Big Fish Games is one of the top 10 games sites worldwide.

This is a great program if your talents lie more in online marketing rather than recruiting people to home meetings, cold calling leads, etc. The customers are there (online) in the millions! All the games offer a free download for a 60 minute free trial. Most games retail for around $19.99. Game players can set up their own game space and begin to invite friends. I think this is were the real growth will come from in the months ahead.

The BFG affiliate/mlm program is very straight-forward:

  • It's a 3-tier program. No matrix or binary...more of a uni-level plan.
  • You earn 25% on level 1, 25% of 25% on level 2 and 3.
  • Unlike traditional affiliate programs which pay you on the first sell only, you earn for the lifetime of your customer.
  • No cost to join as an affiliate.
  • You get a free website, free back office, free tools like banner ads, and an entire suite of tools to build you own site or blog... FREE FREE FREE!
  • Receive payment via electronic deposit on the 15th of each month!

Does it get any simpler? Oh, and yes - you can definitely make money. The top earner made $12,000 in December of 2006.
